The Age Concern Colchester Supporters'
Club was officially launched at its 2005 Annual General Meeting, which was held in
Colchester Town Hall on Wednesday 19 October.
Age Concern Colchester works with
and for older people offering a range of services aimed at enhancing their quality
of life.
Our Information and Advice Services assisted over 2,500 people in the last year
and we need to make sure that we always have someone at the end of the telephone
to provide older people with all the facts and assistance they need.
To raise extra funds for these much
needed services Age Concern Colchester formally launched its Supporters' Club
and has identified the following ways that people can help
· Becoming a volunteer at our Social Clubs, Shops or the Information
and Advice Service
· Making a Standing Order donation to the charity each month
· By organising fundraising events, e.g., coffee mornings, lunches and
other events
· A one-off donation
· By remembering Age Concern Colchester in your Will
Supporters will receive a quarterly
magazine to keep them up to date with what is happening in the charity and how
their contributions are making a difference for older people.
Just as the numbers of people reaching
old age are set to rise, we need to ensure that Age Concern Colchester is able
to offer the support and services older people and their carers need.
