Age Concern Colchester is delighted to be able to advise that the government has launched a Boiler Scrappage Scheme to try and to reduce the amounts of carbon dioxide produced.
Briefly you would be eligible if you switch from a G-rated to an A-rated boiler.
The scheme is run through the Energy Saving Trust and you need to be aware of the following conditions
Is it the main boiler to heat your home?
Does your boiler have a pilot light or do you think it is more than fifteen years old?
Arrange for your nominated installer to visit and to provide you with a quote
Contact the Energy Saving Trust on 0800 512 012. You will need the following information to hand:
• Your name
•Your address where the voucher is being claimed for
•The make and name of the boiler being scrapped
•The details of the installer
•The type of replacement boiler
• Confirmation that you have a quotation or that you have had the installer visit to carry out the work.
